Gemotions

I dragged myself out of bed this morning, another day, another grind. The weight of expectations pressed down on me, heavy and relentless. The office felt like a prison. The endless meetings, the incessant emails, the constant pressure to perform. I was done.

I was in the break room, preparing my lukewarm coffee, when I overheard the conversation. "And the bonus! I couldn't believe it." The speaker was talking about their salary. I knew what was coming. It was far more than I made.

I slumped against the counter, the coffee suddenly tasteless. The familiar hum of the office seemed to mock me. I wanted to scream, to run, to disappear. All I felt was a crushing sensation of… defeat.
